A Bit About The Website

Fascinating Features is a creative writing website dedicated to telling stories of people who ought to be recognized and showing intimate, personal aspects of the human experience.

We release a new article on the website, highlighting the guest’s accomplishments, ambitions, true intentions and values. At Fascinating Features, we welcome a variety of voices, regardless of their background and circumstances.

A Bit About The Team

Behind Fascinating Features is a small and eager main team (which consists of Mikael, Leslie and Elson) who’s more than ready to share the stories of amazing, awe-inspiring individuals they have met throughout their lives.

Fascinating Features also welcomes and highlights the work of USC students and writers from different Cebu-based universities, coming in as guest writers to interview and showcase their unique styles and points of view. Significant guest writer works are included in Candid Candidates, the upcoming series on the 2022 Philippine Elections.

  • Mikael Borres

    FOUNDER | WRITER

    Mikael’s the guy who writes all the damn articles posted on Fascinating Features. Taking notes of one-hour conversations may be “painfully godawful,” but the annoyance subsides when he gets to highlight people who don’t get the recognition they deserve and delve into their true cores and intentions.

    He is also an undergraduate student of the University of San Carlos, majoring in Political Science.

    Outside of Fascinating Features, academia and other extracurriculars, Mikael takes his time trying to spell out fancy words in Scrabble.

  • Leslie Mhirabelle Miraflor

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Leslie is responsible for connecting Fascinating Features to people who’ve left the team wonderstruck, and organizing the interviews Mikael conducts. She also manages Fascinating Feature’s social media, working with Carl to highlight the website’s unique brand.

    Leslie’s a student at Cebu Doctors’ University, studying to become a medical technician.

    She’s a lover of books, but not enough to go through her must-read list. She’s also a fanatic for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’d be safe to say that she’s infatuated with the MCU to the point of ‘creepy’.

    Elson is responsible for making the publicity materials you see on the website’s social media pages. He attempts to grasp the full story of the articles to entice you in reading the outputs Mikael made.

    He is currently an undergraduate Political Science student at the University of San Carlos Majoring in International Relations and Foreign Service. He has an innate interest in world politics and how it affects us.

    He is currently a working student. Juggling academics, work, and student organizations to make his life more eventful.
